Although Net-A-Porter doesn’t have a
brick and mortar store, the representation of the website upholds the standards
of any luxury retailer. The website takes you to a boutique like feel via their
and allows you to shop as if you’re reading a magazine. Through The Edit, Net-A-Porter’s
magazine, and various featured stories customers can shop while educating their
selves on brands and current trends.
Navigation throughout the site is made
easy with simple colors used for the background and easy to access tabs on the
top of the screen. The availability of these tabs, one including a WHATS NEW!
Tab, makes it easy for the customer that’s in a hurry and wants to make a quick
purchase.
Merchandise is also assorted as if it
was merchandised in a store through color assortment. The assortment can be changed
to be sorted by Price HIGH to LOW, LOW to HIGH, and WHATS NEW!
The imagery on Net-A-Porter’s site has
the highest quality. Each item is shown by itself, and merchandised on a model
with various other items in different angles. If the item was featured on the
runway that shot is made available as well! Each item is accompanied with
editor’s notes, “shown here with” previewing the other items worn by the model,
the availability to contact a style advisor, size and fit information, and more
details.
