Positioning

Competitors: MyTheresa, Farfetch, Moda Operandi, Brownes London, Barney’s NY, Jeffery’s, and Bergdorf Goodman

Pure E-commerce sites such as Farfetch, Moda Operandi, and MyTheresa have all have a unique edge to an online luxury retail site. For Example: Farfetch brings in exclusive products from small boutiques, Moda Operandi allows designer products to be purchased a season before it hits stores, and MyTheresa although just born is starting to catch up with Net-A-Porter for a leading luxury brand online retailer. Stores that are hybrid, of brick and mortar and ecommerce are Brownes London, Barney’s, and Bergdorf Goodman. These stores have similar product as Net-A-Porter but also have the advantage of being brick and mortar (giving the customer a chance to “feel” the product). Jeffery’s, located in NYC’s meatpacking district while offering similar product and a unique edit has yet to create an ecommerce site.
